When I first saw pictures of Eastern Bluebirds on a Facebook group, I knew I wanted to go photograph them.
I drove two hours to Fish Hawk Creek Preserve South in Hillsborough County to do so, since that’s where the person on the Facebook group found them. As soon as I pulled into the parking lot, Eastern Bluebirds were there to greet me. It was great and worth the trip.
Then, a week later, I got a surprise when I spotted some at the UCF Arboretum, just about 10 minutes from my home. Turns out Eastern Bluebirds are not that rare and have a pretty large area where they can be found.
Wherever you see them, the colorful birds are fun to photograph. Here are some of my favorite pictures I have taken of Eastern Bluebirds since January 2023.
