Florida’s Snail Kites are remarkable birds of prey, even if their prey doesn’t move that fast. They had to adapt quickly in order to survive.

As I have seen in Osceola County, there is another threat for the Snail Kites’ survival: Our growing human population.

I was excited to finally see and photograph some Snail Kites, but they were all females. But I found some male kites at Lake Tohopekaliga.
