I spent Memorial Day morning at Fish Hawk Creek Preserve South in Hillsborough County, and I was able to photograph a very patriotic trio of new-to-me birds.
It took several visits to the same pond I saw them in last year before I came across these little ducks again, but the effort was worth it.
The Green Heron is one of the smallest of the different herons we see in Central Florida, but that small size just makes them more stealthy.
