When hundreds of different types of birds suddenly take off, there’s usually a good reason.
When it happened on Saturday morning at the Orlando Wetlands Park, the reason was easy to understand – namely two Bald Eagles circling around.
After flying around for a bit, the two eagles landed in a tree – almost seemingly to enjoy the chaos they created. One finally took off, but the other stayed to savor the mayhem.
The Roseate Spoonbills and baby Barred Owls get a lot of the attention, but there are so many photogenic birds at the Orlando Wetlands this time of year.
It seemed too late in the summer for the Swallow-tailed Kite to be here and too early for the Yellow Warbler to arrive.
A wayward male Vermilion Flycatcher has become quite the attraction at the Orlando Wetlands after possibly being brought to the area by a recent hurricane..
