By the dawn’s early light: Morning at Orlando Wetlands

There’s something special about the light in the morning when taking bird photos. There’s such a soft, golden hue that it makes the subjects of photos appear almost magical.

This was apparent to me during a recent morning visit to the Orlando Wetlands, arriving there shortly after the sun rose.

The lighting can be just right that it brings out different details in some birds — like the green feathers in a Green Heron poised atop an old tree branch (above).

But it wasn’t just the Green Heron that looked special. Take a look at these birds …
