I plead guilty as charged if you think I have been posting too many photos of Roseate Spoonbills and baby Barred Owls.
They’re hard to resist photographing when I visit the Orlando Wetlands, but they are certainly not the only photo-worthy birds at the park. This time of year, there are so many there.
On a recent sunset visit with Red Huber, I came home with a surprising number of photos I really liked of birds (and one reptile) that didn’t have any pink or tendencies to call out “who.”
So, here’s my little tribute to the ‘other’ birds of the Orlando Wetlands.
It was typical 2024 Florida winter weather when I visited Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge on Saturday, Jan. 27. It was sunny, then cloudy, then rainy, then cloudy, then sunny, etc. Rinse and repeat, as they say.
These colorful little warblers are here for breeding season. In recent days I have heard them around my house and at the Wetlands, but I had not been able to spot one, let alone photograph one.
