Fort DeSoto attracts scores of shore birds

Though the bird migration season is winding down, there are still lots of amazing birds to see at Fort DeSoto Park near St. Petersburg, and I was able to photograph 16 different types of them this past Saturday.

I saw a number of new-to-me birds – from colorful Ruddy Turnstones, to cute Semipalmated Plovers, to the odd-looking Magnificent Frigatebird, just to name a few.

There were event a few birds I have photographed before, but never in this locale. Take a look at some of birds of Fort DeSoto:
