No Date Set for McEwen’s Return

Roger Simmons, January 9, 2008

After suffering a stoke in November, Local 6 morning and noon anchor Mark McEwen continues to improve but no date has been set for his return to the air, the station says.

McEwen, who spent 16 years in morning TV with CBS before coming to Orlando, had the stroke in mid-November. At the time, the station said he would not be back until at least January.

WKMG said McEwen’s doctors still expect a full and complete recovery. McEwen’s spirits are said to be good and have been bolstered by the nearly 1,000 e-mails, cards and letters he has received from Local 6 viewers. You can send him an e-mail at mmcewen@local6.com
