Thursday will mark the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Charley’s surprising and destructive visit to Orlando. Orlando’s TV stations performed a great public service on Aug. 13, 2004 — dismissing the official National Hurricane Center track for the storm and correctly predicting the hurricane was headed to Orlando, not to Tampa….

If you watch MSNBC, no doubt you’re familiar with Keith Obermann’s “Countdown” show. And one of its big features is the “Worst Person in the World” segment. Olbermann put WKMG-Channel 6 news director Steve Hyvonen on his list of “Worst Person in the World” for Local 6’s upcoming newsroom summit. Ouch….

A South Florida tipster says that former WESH anchor Shannon Hori may be headed back to the Sunshine State. According to the tip, Hori is on the list of possible replacements for anchor Maggie Rodriguez at CBS O&O WFOR in Miami. Rodriguez is leaving to anchor the Saturday Early Show…
