Anastasia State Park, the beaches and the famous Alligator Farm are great locations to go birding while in St. Augustine, but they’re not the only places.
On our recent visit, I went to Eddie Vickers Park and Robert B. Hayling Freedom Park for the first time. Both are located on a small peninsula where the San Sebastian and Matanzas rivers converge.
I watched Roseate Spoonbills, Great Blue Herons and other shore birds fly by, but also got to photograph some little birds around the adjacent parks.
I’m definitely adding these two parks as places to go see birds the next time I visit St. Augustine.
