Great Egrets and their babies in St. Augustine

Among the nesting birds I saw at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm’s rookery in my mid-April visit were Great Egrets.

There were several nests that had babies in them of different ages – ranging from what looked like newly hatched to some that had hatched weeks ago and were already in their juvenile stages.

I was able to photograph the egrets in the morning after sunrise and in the evening before sunset. I think it gave me a good variety of photos of these regal white birds.
