Backyard birds revisited: New look at familiar friends

Roger Simmons, September 27, 2023September 27, 2023

I recently upgraded my Canon Rebel T7 camera to a mirrorless one from Canon, and I have been busy learning the new settings.

I have been using the birds in my backyard as subjects as I practice with the new camera. Despite some errors in figuring out how to master the new mirrorless camera, I have been pleased with the results so far.

So, I’m going to share some of these images taken in my backyard as part of my practice sessions.

A male Northern Cardinal decides to take a break on a shrub branch in my backyard in September 2023.
A Carolina Wren snacks on some suet on my backyard feeder in September 2023.
A Blue Jay looks over its shoulder toward a feeder in my backyard in September 2023.
A Tufted Titmouse tries to hide in the shrubs in my backyard in September 2023.
