Birds, Words, Pics + TV
I work with a very talented, experienced group of photographers who produce amazing work day in and day out at the Orlando Sentinel.
So I was really honored when our photo editor asked me for some of my bird photos for the weekly Sunday Snapshot feature on the back of the Travel & Arts section.
I offered a pretty big selection of recent photos, and she narrowed it down to seven that appeared in print.
Here’s how the page came out.
The Wood Ducks included the very beautiful male drakes as well as interesting looking female hens – who I photographed for the first time.
The Green Heron is one of the smallest of the different herons we see in Central Florida, but that small size just makes them more stealthy.
Whenever I hear “Prairie Warbler,” I think of Little House on the Prairie and the Midwest. But this little yellow and black bird is a year-round Florida resident.
