I work with a very talented, experienced group of photographers who produce amazing work day in and day out at the Orlando Sentinel.
So I was really honored when our photo editor asked me for some of my bird photos for the weekly Sunday Snapshot feature on the back of the Travel & Arts section.
I offered a pretty big selection of recent photos, and she narrowed it down to seven that appeared in print.
Here’s how the page came out.
Like many folks who go on vacation, I take photos. It’s just my photos are usually of birds and fish. That was the case when my wife and I went on a cruise that stopped at Coco Cay in the Bahamas.
This is a Wilson’s Warbler, a colorful little bird that isn’t supposed to be in Florida. In fact, it regularly visits just about everywhere in the U.S., Canada and Central America but not Florida.
A recent trip to Orlando Wetlands showed the variety of birds who are back in the area for the winter.
