Dancing Reddish Egret, its imitator and an Osprey splashdown

Roger Simmons, July 26, 2023August 5, 2023

A Sunday morning outing to Black Point Wildlife Drive on Merritt Island was worth the trip on July 9.

I came across a dancing Reddish Egret, which is always fun to watch. I even got to see a Little Blue Heron trying to imitate the egret with its own dance.

And for the first time I saw an Osprey go hunting by diving into a pond – fully submerging itself – to grab a fish for some Sunday brunch.
